We stayed in a wonderful flat with views out over the forest on to the ocean, it was called Ingwenya Lodge. The place is just wonderful - beautiful view, nice garden with a pool,comfortable rooms with big kitchens. There are plenty of birds and every morning I saw a kingfisher sitting on the branch just opposite my window. The hosts are very friendly and you really feel like visiting old friends, when you are there. The house is situated in a very peaceful area, at the end ofthe road, so you can hear only birds and frogs there. However, you are still close to the city centre - only 10 minutes walk to the main street of St Lucia. We spent there 3 days and I wish to be back to this place again. Breathtakingly beautiful! We were stressed out when we arrived but Ingwenya Lodge really helps you to relax and gives you a holiday feeling. The beds were very comfortable and the veranda has beautiful sea views. The Lodge also has a beautiful new swimming pool with night lights. Everything was very nice and it is the perfect place to stay if you want to go to Cape Vidal or the Umfolozi/Hhluluwe Game Reserve or see the Hippos & Crocs at St Lucia....

You can go walking along the lagoon or go to the center without fear. The lodge is very well placed and very well equipped. In addition, Barend booked for us a morning safari, a boat trip and gave us lots of good advice (visits, restaurants, ...). Everything was perfect.

Just a wanted to drop you a line to say thanks - we had such a great time while staying at Ingwenya Lodge a couple of weeks ago. It was the best part of a great honeymoon, in fact. We loved our Nyalazi house, it had everything we wanted, and are grateful to you for so much helpful advice about St Lucia and even in planning our onward journey. (We took your advice and got to Drakensberg fast!) So thanks very much, I only hope we can visit again soon.

The Hluhluwe unit was very comfortable and had a great view. The cleanliness of the unit needs particular mention, and the braai was spotless. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The bird life was wonderful. We had an excellent 3 night stay and will return if we are ever in St Lucia again.
St Lucia town itself was most impressive, with really excellent retaurants and no obvious litter. We are proud that it shows itself off so well to all the foreign tourists we saw there.

Set in the leafy suburbs of St, Lucia, Ingwenya Lodge was a peaceful haven away from the busy centre of the town. The Mfolosi unit which we had was perfectly located; beside the pool which kept the children happy and with views over the tropical forest to the distant coast for the adults to rest their eyes. The unit was very spacious for a family of 6. The hosts were very helpful and friendly.

Upon arriving at Ingwenya Lodge, we recieved a very warm welcome from our hosts and were were pleasantly surprised at the the wonderful view that we had from our flatlet.
We immediately felt the tranquility and peacefulness of the area and the loft-feel of our establishment complimented it even more.
From the upstairs we could easily view the magnificence of the ocean as well as the estuary-what a pleasure to wake up to this view every morning!
The place was very easy to find and situated in a lovely nature-filled environment.
It was definitely a pleasure to experience Ingwenya Lodge as well as the wonderful hospitality that was offered.
Will definitely consider booking in with them again!!
